Sonic the Hedgehog is a video game mascot created Japanese developers Yuji Naka, Naoto Ohshima, and Hirokazu Yasuhara for Sega. He is an anthropomorphic hedgehog with primarily blue fur, alongside peach accents on his muzzle, arms, and inner ears. He is usually seen wearing white gloves and red shoes with a gold buckle.
Although games in the franchise were originally thought of as the best platformers in the genre, modern sonic games are infamously known for being glitchy, underdeveloped, and overall low quality. Despite this, the fanbase has stayed strong. There are now 2 (almost 3) mainstream movies, a very successful comic and several recent games that finally show the same level of quality the franchise was originally known for.
